50 Disciplines For Becoming More

Lesson Three (Psalm 63:1-7)
"Daring To Draw Near"
Taught By Pastor David Petty

Big Idea For Today:

Worship is our response, both corporate and personal, to God for who He is and what He has done.

A Closer Look:

Five habits designed to make you more effective in Personal
worship ...

1.)   Surrender your life to God with your first waking moment.

"Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn." (Psalm 37:5,6)

2.)   Invite God to share every part and activity of your day.

"I will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips." (Psalm 34:1)

3.)   Engage God in constant conversation.

"O Lord who saves me, day and night will I cry out to you. May my prayer come before you." (Psalm 88:1,2)

4.) Learn to   Look for God in hidden places.

"I have set the Lord always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I will not be shaken." (Psalm 16:8)

5.)   Conclude your day with thanks to God for His goodness.

"On my bed I remember you. I think of you through the watches of the night." (Psalm 63:6)

Power Point For This Week:

Find a solitary place to sit quietly before the Lord. Ask Him to tell you how He feels about you. Then simply listen.
