50 Disciplines For Becoming More

Lesson Six (Mark 1:14-20)
"In The School Of Discipleship"
Taught By Pastor David Petty

Big Idea For Today:

You were created to become like Christ and discipleship is the process by which this transformation takes place.

A Closer Look:

Ten habits that mark the life of a disciple ...

1.) Disciples   Heed the Master's   Call.

Remind yourself often of the decision that has set your course.

"'Come, follow me,' Jesus said ... And at once they left their nets and followed Him." (Mark 1:17,18)

2.) Disciples   Keep   Following the Master's   Lead.

Make a lifetime commitment and refuse to consider turning back.

"From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him." (John 6:66)

3.) Disciples   Know the Master's   Ways.

Spend regular time and resources on studying God's Word.

"If you hold to my teachings you are really my disciples."
(John 8:31)

4.) Disciples   Love the Master's   Family.

Treat all those who share your journey with great care and respect.

"By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you live one another." (John 13:35)

5.) Disciples bring   Glory to the Master's   Name.

Evaluate your progress by how others are responding to Jesus in you.

"This is my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." (John 15:8)
